The Addictive Nature of Stand-Up Comedy

Ever wonder what happens when you get addicted to something after just one taste? When I started performing stand-up comedy, I originally just did one talent show to see if I was any good. Needless to say, I ended up getting first place on the first night I ever performed. The plan was to perform one show and move on with my life, but when I heard the laughs of that energetic crowd, I instantly became addicted to the art of stand-up comedy.

Now, as I am in year number seven of my stand-up comedy dream, my going rate is $1,500 for just 40 minutes of my comedy on stage. I originally just started this to have a little bit of fun and to see if I was any good. Then I realized I was a natural at making people laugh.

So, I'm here to give you a warning: if you ever try stand-up comedy, you will notice that it is exhilarating, energetic, and such a wonderful feeling when you can actually make a crowd burst out laughing. It's an unbelievable feeling. I'm just here to warn you that performing stand-up comedy is very addicting. When you're on stage, connecting with the crowd, hearing their laughter, there is nothing like it. It is such an incredible feeling that I can never fully explain it.

So let this blog post serve as a warning: if you ever try stand-up comedy, you might get addicted to the feeling of being on stage, making hundreds of people laugh.
